so its officially become a little pathetic that i haven't posted anything in almost a month... oops.
West point- I never posted about the west point ball that i went to. (for those of you who don't know what west point is, no worries i didn't either until i came out here. It a military college that is super hard to get into, its GORGEOUS beyond all reason, and you have to have government issued ID's to get in! They even search your car! and place looks like hogwarts!) I went with this guy that I met a a few weeks before and wore a stunning salmon colored cocktail dress. The dinner was delicious and uber fancy. I'm pretty sure I had at least 5 different forks, and three different cups to drink out of. Talk about confusing... After dinner we went to a play called "100th night". This play is a tradition that they do every year for all the seniors when they only have 100 nights before graduation and they all leave to start military jobs all over the country. The play was hilarious!
I'm sure my mother will be horrified when she reads this next part but, I did not get any pictures that night. I know. What was I thinking? But to be honest I was so overwhelmed with everything from that night that it didn't even cross my mind...
NYC- the city is beautiful as always. I went there a few times over the past month and here are some highlights.
I went and saw the Rockefeller center ice rink
Went to the Manhattan Family ward in the city and saw this building when we were leaving. If you know why this building makes me extremely happy then we can be friends.
And can I just say that NYC does breakfast right. This pizza was SOOOO good!
I finally went to FAO Schwarz. If I could have gone there as a kid I think I would have died and gone to heaven. It was pretty sweet! They had this foosball table made from barbi dolls. If I had 5000 dollars to blow and a place to put it I would have bought this baby in a heartbeat!
Lastly, for one day the weather actually got above 65 degrees and so Richard and I had ourselves a little picnic!
best. day. ever.
Unfortunately the next day he got the flu and then a few days after that Bella, Julia Rose, Dawn, and I all got it the same day. Talk about miserable....
On a happy note Richard got his yellow belt (richard is the youngest out of three of the kids I nanny for he is my good buddy because while the girls are in school we spend all day together)
and he didn't stop smiling for three days haha
He also says the most RANDOM things! Here are a few quotable Richard moments this past week.
Janell-"hey richard what are you doing on your dvd player?"
richard-"i am lookin up a recipie for fish."
janell-"oh yeah what does it say?"
richard-"we need to cut down all the doors with toads, fill all the toilets with our spit, and then we need some lemons for taste."
Richard- "but is it as cool as a monkey eating parmesan?"
four year old richard " uh janell... i just wanted to let you know that i am having a baby next saturday and i hope you can make it"
here's one from julia rose who is six
janell "julia rose did you finish your spelling homework?"
julia rose " yup! i`m d-o-w-n, done!"
p.s.
there was a mariachi band in my subway car last week. best. ride. ever.
