well I haven't posted about life from the big apple for quite a while so here goes...
two weeks ago we had a 3 day city in the conference for all the YSA (young single adults) in the area at the new york city church building. On Saturday night we took a train into the city and walked around columbus circle for about 45 minutes asking people if they knew where the "mormon temple" was because none of us had ever been. It was FREEZING outside! The wind was blowing so hard and I'm pretty sure I lost all feeling in my entire body because it was so numb from the cold (on a side note I definitely got wind burn and my face was red and blotchy for like 4 days! thank you new york...). After walking around aimlessly for about 40 minutes we almost gave up but we decided to ask one last person if they knew where it was. This time I after someone asked for the "mormon temple" and he said no I looked at him in desperation and said "It says 'Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' on the side in huge letters" to this he of course replied "well yeah that building sticks out its only two blocks that way". Relieved we pretty much ran to the temple. That night we met the main guy from Jericho Road. Here is a pic of Sarah with him
That night when we got to grand central station to catch the train back we literally ran to the terminal and watched the train leave the station right as we got to the platform! Since it was now midnight and the train schedule was reduced we had to sit in grand central until 1:40 waiting for the next train! yuck!
The next morning we went back to the city for church at the conference and this time we walked right to the church building instead of wandering around forever.
As I'm posting this pictures I realized I never introduced my friends out here! These are my girlies! The one with the hood is Krista who is nannying out here from American Fork. In the back is Melissa who is also a nanny from St George and lastly Sarah on the right who is from Salem, Ut. Love love love these girls!
Just livin it up in the subway with the awesome bands!
love them :)
